Escalating Violence in Sudan's Kordofan Region Drives Sharp Surge in Displacement

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has expressed deep alarm over the rapidly worsening humanitarian situation in Sudan's Kordofan region. Escalating violence since October 2025 has led to a 65% increase in newly displaced people, reaching over 219,000 by late June, with nearly one million internally displaced persons now residing in the region.
