WHO Chief Spotlights Growing Ebola Outbreaks in Africa and Calls for Stronger Earthquake Preparedness

The World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced the official end of the hantavirus global outbreak but highlighted growing Ebola outbreaks in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. He also stressed the critical need for stronger earthquake preparedness, particularly in regions like Türkiye, Greece, and Italy, following lessons from the 2023 Türkiye–Syria earthquakes.
