The World Health Organization has announced that the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has now resulted in over 600 deaths and nearly 1,800 confirmed cases since May. This particular strain, Bundibugyo, currently lacks approved vaccines or treatments, and the outbreak is still expanding. Neighboring Uganda has also reported additional fatalities.
