European Commission fines AliExpress €550 million for Digital Services Act violations

The European Commission has imposed a substantial €550 million fine on AliExpress for failing to comply with its obligations under the Digital Services Act (DSA). The e-commerce platform was found to have inadequately assessed and mitigated risks associated with the sale of illegal, unsafe, or counterfeit products. AliExpress has also been mandated to implement corrective actions to rectify these breaches.
