EU Commission Approves Updated Corporate Sustainability Reporting Rules

The European Commission has officially adopted revised European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), which include voluntary guidelines for smaller businesses. These mandatory standards, part of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), will apply to EU companies and extend their reach to numerous US companies operating through EU subsidiaries. The goal is to simplify and enhance corporate sustainability disclosures.
