Millions in Gaza face Crisis-level food insecurity despite increased humanitarian aid

More than 1.4 million people in Gaza are projected to experience Crisis-level food insecurity or worse between July and December 2026, according to a new assessment by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC). The assessment, released on Thursday, indicates that 1.2 million people, or 59 percent of Gaza's population, are already facing severe food insecurity, highlighting the fragility of recent gains from increased humanitarian assistance.
