Deadly flash floods kill at least 82 across Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India

Heavy rainfall has triggered deadly flash floods across northeastern India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, resulting in at least 82 fatalities. In India's Assam state, 36 people have died, with over 650,000 affected. Afghanistan's Nuristan province and Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province reported at least 46 deaths and 100 injuries, with homes, markets, and roads swept away. The United Nations relief coordination office (OCHA) noted extensive damage to homes, roads, bridges, and irrigation systems, emphasizing the immediate priority of saving lives and reaching missing or injured individuals.
