UN Secretary-General Guterres urges immediate removal of all sanctions on Syria during landmark visit

UN Secretary-General António Guterres, during his first visit to Syria since 2009, urged the immediate removal of all sanctions imposed on the country. Guterres stated that lifting sanctions is crucial to support Syria's economic recovery and rebuilding efforts after more than 13 years of war. He also emphasized the UN's commitment to Syria's territorial integrity, independence, and sovereignty, calling for an end to all Israeli violations in the Golan Heights.
