Ukrainian Drones Strike Russian Oil Facilities and Export Terminal, UN Security Council Meets on Escalating Hostilities

Ukraine launched hundreds of drones at Russia early Monday, killing two people in Rostov-on-Don and setting multiple buildings ablaze. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed strikes on an export terminal in the Rostov region and oil facilities in the Yaroslavl and Udmurtia regions, located far from the front line. Russia reported intercepting 276 drones. In response to intensified hostilities and systematic Russian attacks on Black Sea ports, which are disrupting maritime trade and threatening global food security, the UN Security Council convened at Ukraine's request. Ukraine also alleged that Russia is preparing to deploy an additional 30,000 North Korean troops to the conflict. Separately, a suspected Russian-made drone was shot down over Romania, a NATO member, following a series of airspace incursions. Meanwhile, UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, reaffirming Britain's unwavering support for Ukraine.
