EU Expands IRIS² Satellite Constellation for Defense and Security

The European Commission and SpaceRISE consortium signed an agreement to expand the EU's IRIS² satellite constellation, adding 66 satellites to reach 348 in low Earth orbit. This initiative aims to significantly strengthen the EU's defense, security, and emergency services, increasing secure governmental capacity by 60% within the EU and 54% globally.
