Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia Sign NATO-Style Defense Pact in Mecca

Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia have signed a trilateral defense agreement in Mecca, stipulating that an armed attack against one member will be considered an attack against all three. This "Mecca Joint Defence Agreement" is described as technically comparable to NATO's Article 5 collective-defense clause and is expected to reorganize the security landscape of the Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean.
