EU Increases Humanitarian Aid to Myanmar Amid Deepening Conflict and Crisis

The European Union is providing an additional €10.5 million in humanitarian aid for people affected by the conflict in Myanmar, bringing its total support for 2026 to €49.1 million. The conflict has claimed over 100,000 lives since the February 2021 military coup, and 16.2 million people are now in need of assistance, making it one of the world's largest humanitarian emergencies. The new funding will support emergency healthcare, food, protection, shelters, and water and sanitation.
