WHO Documents Over 900 Attacks on Healthcare in Global Conflict Zones This Year

The World Health Organization reports over 900 attacks on healthcare facilities, workers, and patients in global conflict zones between January and August 2026, averaging more than four incidents daily. These attacks resulted in at least 900 deaths and over 1,400 injuries. Ukraine, Lebanon, and the occupied Palestinian territory account for the majority, with incidents also recorded in Sudan, Myanmar, Syria, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
