European Union Provides €175,000 for Sierra Leone Flood Relief

The European Union has allocated €175,000 in humanitarian funding to Sierra Leone, assisting 5,100 people impacted by severe flooding in Freetown and the Western Area Urban District. Heavy August rainfall caused loss of life, displaced thousands, and damaged over 700 homes, contaminating water sources. This aid supports the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society in delivering emergency assistance, including cash transfers, shelter, and health services.
