Colombia Declares State of Emergency After Major Earthquake Causes Widespread Devastation

Colombia has declared a State of Emergency across 15 departments following a powerful Mw 7.4–7.5 earthquake on August 10. The disaster has resulted in at least 329 fatalities, 4,548 injuries, and 426 missing persons, alongside immense damage to critical infrastructure and the disruption of basic services, affecting approximately 282,700 people.
