IMF Chief Warns Rising Bond Yields Threaten Developing Country Debt Progress

IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva stated that increasing debt and rising bond yields in advanced economies are jeopardizing the progress of developing and low-income countries in managing their own debts. She attributed the bond yield increases to higher overall debt levels, persistent inflation pressures from the closed Strait of Hormuz, and competition for capital.
