UN Probe: Foreign Support Sustains Sudan Conflict, Expanding Warring Parties' Ability to Strike Civilian Areas

A United Nations fact-finding mission reported that foreign weapons, military technology, fighters, and logistical networks are sustaining Sudan's conflict, enabling warring parties to strike deep into civilian areas, with some attacks potentially amounting to war crimes. The report found reasonable grounds to believe a transnational network involving entities in the UAE, Chad, Libya, and Somalia supplied the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) with military aid. The conflict, which erupted in April 2023, has displaced over 14 million people and created one of the world's worst humanitarian crises.
