EU pledges over $200 million to Greenland amidst renewed US annexation threats and NATO exercises

The European Union has pledged a $232 million (200 million-euro) investment package to Greenland, aiming to strengthen their partnership and improve local quality of life. This move comes amidst renewed threats from US President Donald Trump to annex the self-governing Danish territory, which has strained relationships with NATO allies. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced the package during a visit to Nuuk, coinciding with NATO's Arctic Shield military exercise involving 11 alliance countries in Greenland.
