BRICS leaders discuss global tensions, advocate UN reforms and local currency use

At the BRICS summit in New Delhi, leaders from China, Russia, India, and Iran addressed rising geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions, and climate crises. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for equitable global rule-making and UN Security Council reforms. The bloc also supported increased use of local currencies in trade and stronger cross-border payment systems to foster Global South cooperation.
