BRICS leaders propose open-source AI zone and UN Security Council expansion

At the 18th BRICS summit in New Delhi, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced that China would lead the creation of an "open-source zone for artificial intelligence" for BRICS countries, aiming to support cooperation in AI development and application. Russian President Vladimir Putin also called for the expansion of the UN Security Council to increase representation for countries from Asia, Africa, and Latin America, emphasizing the need to strengthen the UN's central role in global affairs. The bloc also issued a statement criticizing protectionism and economic sanctions.
