Fighting, displacement in Yemen deepen humanitarian crisis along its Red Sea coast

Clashes between Yemeni government forces and Houthi rebels have intensified along the western coast, with Houthis reportedly seizing the strategically important city of Mokha and its port. This escalation has resulted in heavy casualties on both sides and the displacement of over 82,000 people since the beginning of September, with more than 2,000 reaching Djibouti. Local authorities in Aden are preparing a new camp for thousands of displaced individuals.
