UN Envoy Engages Houthi Negotiators to De-escalate Yemen Conflict

The UN envoy for Yemen has met with Houthi negotiators in Oman and Yemen's internationally recognized government in Saudi Arabia in an effort to prevent further escalation of the conflict. Renewed fighting has resulted in hundreds of deaths and displaced over 145,000 people, threatening the vital Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
