China and the European Union have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining stable and balanced trade relations following a meeting of their trade and investment consultation mechanism held from October 10-11, 2026, in Beijing. Both sides discussed exploring the possibility of reducing tariffs on certain goods within WTO rules and held in-depth discussions on trade in electric and hybrid vehicles, aiming to prevent further escalation of trade tensions.
