UN Security Council Warned of Bleak Sudan Situation Amid Escalating Conflict and Humanitarian Crisis

The UN Security Council was briefed on the deteriorating situation in Sudan, where relentless fighting and drone attacks continue to fuel a bleak conflict and humanitarian crisis. UN officials warned that continued fighting is putting civilians at risk, and the scale of the humanitarian response remains insufficient to meet severe needs. Conflict-affected areas are also grappling with the effects of El Niño, including crop failures and livestock losses, further worsening food security.
