Canada and Türkiye Launch Strategic Partnership, Begin Free Trade Agreement Negotiations

Canada and Türkiye have initiated an ambitious Strategic Partnership, marked by the first bilateral visit of a Canadian Prime Minister to Türkiye. The partnership includes the launch of negotiations for a comprehensive free trade agreement, set to begin in late November. Additionally, the two NATO allies will deepen cooperation in defense, energy (including LNG, civil nuclear, and critical minerals), and people-to-people ties, aiming to strengthen supply chains and economic resilience.
