Ebola Outbreak Spreads to Kenya and Nigeria Amid Ongoing Crisis in DRC

The World Health Organization (WHO) and European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) confirm an ongoing Ebola disease outbreak (Bundibugyo virus) in the Democratic Republic of Congo since May 2026, with new confirmed cases reported in Kenya and Nigeria in October 2026. As of October 20, 2026, DRC has reported 9,704 confirmed cases and 4,687 deaths, while Kenya has 9 cases (1 death) and Nigeria has 1 imported case.
