Updated EU Social Security Coordination Rules Take Effect
Revised European Union rules on the coordination of national social security systems officially entered into force on November 1, 2026. These updates aim to ensure fairer labor mobility and stronger protection of social security rights for individuals living, working, retiring, or seeking employment in another EU country. While most changes will apply from November 1, 2028, some immediate changes include updated rules for flight and cabin crew's 'home base' and strengthened requirements for issuing applicable-legislation attestations (A1 certificates).
