United States urges Venezuela to continue phased plan for democratic transition and economic recovery

The United States has called on Venezuela to adhere to a phased plan for economic recovery and political reconciliation before proceeding with democratic elections. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed this gradual plan with Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs Oliver Blanco. The State Department reaffirmed President Donald Trump's 'three-phase plan' for Venezuela: stabilization, economic recovery and political reconciliation, and democratic transition.
